Originally from Chicago, IL, Arely Anaya (uh-RE-lee uh-NAH-yuh) lives in Butterfield, MN, a town of six hundred-ish people. She’s the middle child of ten and moved homes quite a bit as a kid. W is for Watonwan, an ABC children’s book, was her first publication in 2011. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2019 with a major in fiction writing and a minor in writing for television. Her latest fiction piece, “The Safe Place” can be read in Hair Trigger‘s Winter, 2020 issue. When Anaya isn’t writing, she’s teaching English to 7th and 11th graders, Spanish to 9th graders and assisting the EL Department at Butterfield-Odin Public School. When she isn’t teaching, she’s most likely watching a film or tv show.
